What products does Airgain offer?

Airgain provides smart antenna and embedded antenna products designed to be integrated into a variety of wireless local area network (WLAN) devices, including access points, routers, DSL and cable gateways, set-top boxes, media adapters and client devices.

Which markets benefit most from Airgain’s Smart Antennas?

Airgain’s smart antenna technology has initially been adapted for use in the rapidly expanding market for current 802.11-based WLAN home networking and enterprise system devices.  We have also developed high-gain antenna designs suitable for longer range applications such as wireless broadband access utilizing 802.11 or 802.16-based solutions.

Does Airgain sell complete WLAN products direct to end-users?

Our customers are WLAN device and home electronics companies, including original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and original design manufacturers (ODM) who require cost-effective solutions for products that deliver increased range, performance and availability. We offer them complete manufactured antenna products and licenses for our technology.  Airgain does not currently offer end-user products for distribution directly to consumers.

What does Airgain technology offer which was not possible before?

Several high performance antenna and chip set solutions have been introduced in the past year promising increased range and throughput. Marketed under several brand names but primarily known by the acronym MIMO for multiple-input/multiple out, these solutions come at a significant cost premium which has limited their use to high-end residential and enterprise systems. Airgain’s innovative smart antenna solutions deliver market beating range and throughput at cost effective price points designed to provide capture the mass market.

What makes the Airgain smart antenna solutions unique?

At the heart of Airgain’s technology is a very effective and inexpensive way to focus radio wave energy and to point this focused “beam” in a chosen direction. This focused energy is then harnessed to improve data communication in wireless networks through a set of proprietary algorithms implemented in the firmware that greatly enhance the range and data performance versus conventional antenna solutions.

Can Airgain solutions be adapted to other wireless system solutions?

Our smart antenna solutions are the result of several years of intense development effort and are protected by numerous patents and proprietary software.  While we have targeted our initial application of this technology for 802.11 based-systems, the same core technology can also be applied to provide benefits to next generation WLAN standards based on 802.11n, proprietary and 802.16-based broadband wireless access systems, mobile wireless systems and many more.
