Airgain’s MaxBeam75 smart antenna selected to compete for Most Innovative Product (MIP)

Prestigious regional technology awards program attracts highest volume of nominations in 19-year history

Carlsbad, Calif.; September 29, 2006 – Airgain, Inc., a smart antenna innovator improving the mass market’s wireless connectivity experience through its patented switched beam technology, has been named a finalist in the 2006 CONNECT Most Innovative Product Awards program.

Airgain’s product innovation is its high-performance MaxBeam75 switched-beam smart antenna, which replaces inefficient, interference-prone dipole antennas in Wi-Fi access points, routers and gateways.

The Airgain MaxBeam75 is one of three finalists in the Communications Technology & Hardware category. This year, more than 100 entries were received overall, the largest group in MIP’s history. Winners will be announced at a December 15 awards ceremony.

Since 1988, the CONNECT MIP Awards program has served as a benchmark for predicting the region’s most successful emerging technologies. From early stage biotechnology companies to the first products generated by the region’s telecommunications boom, MIP has been an indicator of the industries and technologies that have stimulated the San Diego economy.

CONNECT is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining the growth of innovative technology and life science businesses in San Diego. Since 1985, CONNECT has assisted in the formation and development of over 1,000 companies and is widely regarded as the nation’s most successful regional program linking inventors and entrepreneurs with the resources they need for success.
