Beehives

Beekeepers manage their colonies for the production of honey or as pollinators of fruit trees, and they would like to remotely monitor the health and location of their hives.

One of the most critical factors in hive health is the maintenance of an optimal temperature of 33° C to 35° C.  The sudden loss of the queen or disruption of the hive itself can cause the hive temperature to drop. Many bee keepers also want to track the location and movement of their hives as a way to prevent theft or misuse, particularly when hives are loaned out to pollinate almond or fruit trees.

An Airgain monitoring system for beekeepers employs the Airgain Asset Tracker AT2 with embedded temperature and humidity sensors.
